WHAT ARE MUSCLE CRAMPS?
A muscle cramp is a sudden painful contradiction in any of the muscles in the body. Body parts which are often affected and are most prone to cramps include legs, shoulder, neck and back.
WHEN DOES A MUSCLE CRAMP OCCUR? (Causes)
Muscle cramps are a result of an inactive or overly active lifestyle. Restriction in proper blood circulation or sitting in the same position for long hours, lifting heavy weights etc. may cause cramps in different parts of the body.
HOW TO TREAT MUSCLE CRAMPS? (Remedies)
- Hot Water Bag or Electric Heating Pad-Place either of these on the affected area and rest for a while. The heat will allow blood circulation and give relief in the condition.
- Take a Warm Water Shower-Which will enable blood flow throughout the entire body. The sensation caused by lukewarm water will release contracted nerves and make you feel relaxed.
- Consume a lot of fruits and veggies especially bananas and oranges.
- If you tend to get cramps while exercising, drink plenty of water during workouts between regular intervals.
- Apply regular ointment or balm. Massage gently for about 20 minutes.
